….a very dynamic contrast between light and dark–great tension and energy.
Thank you. I had the impression, that there is a kind of cold war between light and dark.
Reminds me of the changing colors of winter in Door County, Wisconsin. Thanks. Really enjoy the color combinations.
Thank you for your comment. Interestingly I had more aquatic associations, but when I look at the piece upside down I also see a winter landscape. Sometimes it is funny what the paintings do…
Maybe it’s the winter outside that makes me too think first of a winter landscape. I love the choice of colors; it has a balanced feeling. Where I live, the remnant of the Tethys Sea (The Sarmatic Sea) left behind deep layers of salt. Maybe those white frothing waves left their drying tears somewhere on our doorsteps.
This is a very poetic idea. Maybe salt would be a good addition to the colors, to go full circle.
And regarding if winter landscape or sea: I’m sometimes the person who understands my paitings the least.

Thank you. Actually I had no intention at all, at the beginning. But also saw water at a certain point during painting.
My first impression was layers of earth, geology. As always, the colors…(K)
